Brampton Golf Club in Cumbria, which is backing the drive to grow the game, has won a national award from England Golf.
Brampton Golf Club, a James Braid designed course established in 1909 and located in beautiful heathland countryside has just received the GolfMark award.
GolfMark is an official seal of approval for clubs which successfully work to develop the game in four ways:
The course is a classic heathland, sand based well drained, design with undulating fairways and fantastic panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, with a driving range and short game area. A modern and warm clubhouse awaits you, with fantastic food and drinks all locally sourced and cooked to order. Our own PGA Professional is on site to offer tips and tuition, or to assist in a purchase of equipment.
GolfMark was driven by the club’s mission to strive to serve its members and guests with an outstanding golfing and socially, enjoyable experience by maintaining a high-quality standard in its course, facilities and service deliveries.
Peter Mossop who led the club’s push to GolfMark, said: “Brampton is a great club, it’s very friendly, welcoming and forward-thinking. This award helps us to spread that message and to tell people that children are safe and secure here and that we understand about beginner golfers. To be one of only 3 clubs in Cumbria with this award is a great achievement.”
The award was presented to Brampton Golf Club by Sam Matthews, England Golf’s Club Support Officer. “I’m delighted that Brampton Golf Club has achieved GolfMark and that its efforts to grow the game can be nationally recognised.”
The GolfMark award was developed by England Golf and also integrates Sport England’s Clubmark award - a national standard for quality sports clubs recognised across the country.
GolfMark brings a number of benefits to clubs including raising awareness, access to funding, business and marketing support and training opportunities for staff and volunteers.
